Modernize legacy assessment tooling and introduce AI-assisted workflows for property valuation at provincial scale.
Overview
MPAC is responsible for assessing and classifying more than five million properties in Ontario. The work explored how AI-assisted valuation could support — not replace — expert assessors, while keeping the human accountable for the final decision.

Approach & process
Framed the surface area for AI assistance around explainability, override, and audit. Designed patterns for confidence signalling, model provenance, and reviewer workflows so that intelligence sits inside a chain of professional judgement rather than around it.
Outcomes
Established a design foundation for an AI-augmented assessment platform.
